Secure IE has two main components: The Internet Security Manager and the Secure IE Browser. Internet Security Manager The Internet Security Manager is a separate program that you can run independent of the browser. It automatically detects and configures your internet security settings. With the Internet Security Manager you can easily categorize and organize sites based on how much you trust them and you can easily restrict security privileges for Javascript, ActiveX, cookies and file downloads. Secure IE Browser The Secure IE Browser has a wealth of features including the highly desired tabbed browsing option, by which you can easily switch between multiple browser windows. The tabbed browsing is a part of the Secure IE Toolbox, a sidebar that also features an option to highlight text or put a sticky note on the webpages you are browsing. In the browser window you can perform zone based blocking by selecting one of three security modes (Blocked, Approved Only or Allowed) for both popups, Flash and ActiveX. In our tests it was very effective for all three categories. The browser also features a built in search box that automatically connects to popular search engines such as Yahoo, Google, Altavista, Dictionary.com, etc. Secure IE automatically tune browser setting for dial-up or broadband and speeds up web browsing by using up to 10 simultaneous "sockets" over a single internet connection. All in all a much safer and more powerful browser than the original Microsoft Internet Explorer.
